George Martinovich, age 76 of Jackson, CA, passed away peacefully Sat., Dec. 17, 2016, at his home in Jackson. George was born in Oakland, CA, May 10, 1940 to the late Sam and Mary (Stanisich) Martinovich. He lived most of his life in the San Francisco Bay Area and Palm Springs CA.

George MartinovichGeorge was the owner of the Elegant Farmer Restaurant located in Jack London Square, Oakland, CA. After 22 years of the restaurant business George moved to Indian Wells Country Club to pursue his passion of custom home building. George also loved the game of golf, this is where you would find him most of his days, sharing stories with friends, winning golf tournament's with his 2 boys and finishing his game at the country club with a fabulous meal before returning home for his afternoon naps. George is survived by his loving wife of thirty years D.J. Martinovich (Crutcher); he was extremely loving and proud of his surviving three children, Coco, Marty and Jay Martinovich, his step sons Paul and Ben Filinson, sister Angie Sekulich, his five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his first wife and best friend to both he and D.J., Suzanne Kirby Martinovich, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend visitation from 4 pm to 7 pm Thursday, December 22, 2016, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 PM both at Daneri Mortuary in Jackson, CA.

George will be laid to rest following a private family service at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in Jackson CA.
