Patricia (Holtz/ Holz) Robles Hermansky July 24, 1920 - Aug. 28, 2013 Patricia's life was illustrated by her love and care for others. She created an elegant home and her love of gardening was admired by many. The Marin Art and Garden Center Guild benefitted from her artistic abilities with her volunteer work with the Guild.
Patricia, or Patty, was born July 24, 1920, the 4th of five children. Her parents, Bessie (Elizabeth) Holtz (Holz), of Arizona, and Maximillian Anecleto Robles of Mexico, married and settled in Oakland. During her Oakland High School years Patty and her lifelong friends formed "The D's", short for "The Delta Dhi Diogenese, or: "Looking for a Good Honest Man". Four of the remaining members helped to celebrate her 90th birthday.
Patricia graduated from San Francisco State in 1942, majoring in Art, minoring in Botany.
During WWII, she joined the American Red Cross to assist in hospitals. Through mutual friends she was introduced to her future husband, Francis Edward Hermansky of Omaha, Nebraska, who was with the U.S. Coast Guard as it joined the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Patty and Frank married April 27, 1949, settling permanently in Tiburon. Tending the family business, the Terra Linda Pharmacy, Fran and Patty raised their three children. After Francis's death in 1981, Pat continued to be employed at the Standard 5 & 10, on the Tiburon Boardwalk. With her smile and easy-going nature she made many friends and acquaintances. Pat also enjoyed traveling with her sister and brother-in-law, and of course, nurturing her home and garden. Her family and many friends alike will miss a wonderful, caring and elegant lady.
Surviving Patricia are her children, John Edward of Tiburon and Margaret Ann (Michael) Meinberg of Larkspur, alumni of Marin Catholic High School and Mary Elena, alumnus of San Dominco School, of Santa Cruz; Patricia's brother, Robert Frye Robles of Palm Springs, and her Best Friend, Caytie (Dr. Ted) McCarthy of Santa Rosa. Patricia will be honored through a Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Hilary's Church at 11:00 AM, on September 27, 2013. Please direct contributions to Hospice by the Bay.
